Robin has represented the Rail Freight Group in the West Midlands and also in Wales for the past 10 years.
Having graduated from Cambridge University, Robin joined the Transport & Shipping Department of what was then the British Steel Corporation in South Wales in 1971. He held a number of middle and senior management roles in the Traffic, Shipping, Distribution and Logistics Departments, latterly focussed on rail freight as well as export movements and off-site warehousing.
Robin was a member of the Transport Users Consultative Committee for Wales and its successor bodies for 14 years from 1985, and from 1995 to 1999 was Deputy Chairman of the Committee.
Retiring from Tata Steel after 36 years in the industry, Robin worked for DSV Road on a short term contract and then joined the Rail Freight Group.
He devotes most of the rest of his time to his role as Treasurer of St Mary’s Priory Church in Abergavenny, part of the UK’s Greater Churches Network, where he is also project managing a number of major repair and development schemes.
