Neil joined the National College for High Speed Rail in 2017. He has played a key role in taking the college from a project to an operating institution, with a curriculum being delivered to multiple cohorts of learners.
Neil has worked in the education sector since 2002. He has specialist knowledge in Higher Education, STEM and Apprenticeships and has held strategic roles in further education colleges with responsibility for Curriculum and Quality, Apprenticeships, Estates, IT services, Student Services and major capital development projects. He has also worked as an education consultant, providing support to the post-16 sector.
Neil was also an Ofsted Inspector for engineering, construction and work-based learning (WBL) between 2009 and 2015. In that time, he undertook over 30 inspections for Ofsted in colleges and private WBL providers.
Neil’s career is characterised by working with colleges and providers that are dedicated to supporting young people through the development of their skills and into the world. Neil is passionate about promoting the opportunities that the high-speed rail sector affords to a wide range of learners through an innovative teaching model.
