Biography

Michael is a qualified Town Planner and Urban Designer who started his career working in Haringey Council’s Regeneration Directorate. He joined the Greater London Authority’s Planning Team in 2007, where he worked on some of the most complex planning projects in London on behalf of the Mayor. This included the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Wembley masterplan and Croydon Town Centre.

Following the London riots in 2011, Michael joined the newly established Mayor of London’s Regeneration Team and was charged with establishing regeneration programmes for both Croydon and Tottenham. This included a wide-ranging programme of capital and revenue projects including supporting the JV between Hammerson and Westfield in Croydon.

In early 2014 Michael took on the role of establishing London’s second Development Corporation at Old Oak and Park Royal (OPDC). Initially as Director of Planning and now as Interim Chief Executive Officer, Michael has been instrumental in positioning Old Oak Park Royal as one of the UK’s largest mixed-use development opportunities with the potential to deliver 25,500 new homes and 65,000 new jobs. Michael is overseeing the multiple delivery workstreams needed to unlock this incredible opportunity.
