Mark Westmoreland Smith is one of the leading juniors at the planning bar. His practice focuses on planning and environmental law, major infrastructure projects, compulsory purchase and judicial review and statutory challenge. He acts on behalf of developers, the Government, local planning authorities as well as third parties. He advises and represents his clients at all stages of the process from strategic advice at the inception of a project to appearing at local plan examinations, planning inquiries and in the High Court or Court of Appeal. Mark has particular experience of promoting sites through the plan making process. Mark is appointed to the Attorney General's B Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown. He is also a member of the Planning and Environment Bar Association, the National Infrastructure Planning Association, UKELA and the Compulsory Purchase Association.
