David Laws was appointed Chief Executive of Leeds Bradford Airport in May 2017 and has over 39 years’ experience in the airport sector. Previously Chief Executive of Newcastle Airport for 10 years, David began his career as a trainee Fireman at the Airport in April 1979 and went onto become Fire Officer, subsequently becoming the Airport’s Safety advisor. David held a number of roles in airport operations, before becoming Commercial Director responsible for the development of the Airline and Retail business and then it’s Chief Executive. David spent more than two decades refereeing at the top level in English football before moving to the Premier League as a referee match-day assessor.
